Product Liability
Products Should Be Designed to Be Safe
It used to be that consumers could count on government agencies such as the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) to ensure that products were safe before coming to market. More and more, however, large manufacturing and importing corporations from other countries have been gaining influence with government agencies, leaving the consumer to twist in the wind after an injury. The implication which Defendants try to make to jurors is that if the defective product was approved by a government agency, it is therefore reasonably safe for consumer use. This is not the law and an experienced Trial lawyer must make sure that a jury is not fooled and renders a verdict holding the Manufacturer of a defective product responsible.
